Girls Weekend

Daddy was at Vinnie's Bachelor Party this weekend, so the girls had some play time to themselves.  Jewels and Bubbley.  No, not shopping and drinking champagne:)  Amelia enjoys playing dress up with jewelry.  I think I've said it before, but she loves jewelry.  Another thing she got from her Great Grandma Inez.  Of course mommy refused to fold laundry:)  Grandma stayed both nights with us.  We woke up this morning and headed to Alice's for a fabulous breakfast.  Then we walked the park and found a blue balloon for Amelia to play with.  Amelia was avoiding her nap, so she had Grandma blowing bubbles until she was feeling a little wompy in the head.    Amelia came home from dinner with the Grandparents with Minnie Mouse balloon!!!!!!  Mickey Mouse balloon from Grandpa's b-day just deflate!  I thought I'd be free from feeling like someone was starring at me or seeing it's shadow in the corner of my eye.  Thanks Grandpa!!!!  Great weekend!  We missed Daddy and we're glad he's home safe!  As for Baby Hadj II, we are in week 28 and things are good.  There's a lot of activity in d'belly.  Sadly, I failed part of my tests last week, the glucose test.  It wasn't a huge fail, but they are cautioning on the safe side and wanting me to take the 3 hour test.  GREAT!!!!!  I have to do it before I get my Rogram (sp) shot next week!  Everything else passed with no problems.  I didn't realize you were suppose to fast before taking the test.  It only said not to eat/drink 2 hours before test.  I'm talking to Doc tomorrow.  My heart hasn't been feeling to swell the past few weeks, and my legs and feet get restless and tingle.  I was told to take it easy this weekend.  Drinking lots of water, Tylenol and feet up.  I did as much as I could, although while sitting on the couch while Amelia slept, I'd sit there re-arranging the dining room and master bedroom, as well as painting them in my head:) Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the mess I'm dealing with about our bathroom.  They installed the shower glass walls on Monday and during the final tightening, one wall blew up!  Seriously, it was pretty loud.  I ran in there and the guys were in shock and covered in glass.  It chipped the shower and new flooring, as well as the vanities and new drywall!!!!! I was so looking forward to showering with a shaving shelf!!!!!  The belly is kinda in the way:)  I also started the first leg of FALL!!!!!!  August has always been grapes and sunflowers for me.  Sadly I didn't get any Muled Wine scent from Illuminations before it closed down.  I have one left.

Her finished product

I totally forgot we made Jello!  So we busted out the pan and finished.  Amelia took her decorating very seriously.  She totally mutilated the Jello.  It was fun watching her get so excited though!  OK, that's enough for tonight.  The ankles are throbbing.

Wednesday night Sunset

Jack, Aubrey and Angela came down for the night.  We had a great afternoon hanging out at South Coast sniffing out the yummy smell of COOKIES!  Our noses led us straight to them!  Amelia discovered the Snicker Doodle and LOVES them!  Straty made an amazing NY Steak dinner sprinkled with our new Garlic Gray Sea Salt seasoning, corn on the cob and baked potato rubbed with our new Garlic seasoning rub.  Yes, we made a stop at Napa Style where James gave us some yummy delights.  Jack gave James a few tips for his next trip to Bakersfield.  He's just like his daddy!  I loved watching him chat it up with the store manager!  After dinner we raced to the beach to watch the sunset.  We forgot the hot chocolate.  It was incredible evening.  Amelia loves the time she has with her God Cousins:) Today we woke up and went to Alice's for breakfast.  Then fed the ducks and took a nature walk through Shipley's Nature Center.  Can you believe we let Aubrey be our tour guide again Jack!!!!  What were we thinking, a pond, with water in it:)  It was a bummer to watch them go.  I had so much I wanted to say to you my friend.  I think we're in for Labor Day!!!!!  When we put the chitlins down, I'll bring the Zin James had us taste and we'll sit by the fire.  xoxox.  Good Luck Jack in State!

Tuesday night Sunset...

We took a quick trip to the beach to watch the sun set.  God is good!  We all loved watching the sun set and the moon rise, along with the airplanes or "Dairs" in Amelia's vocab.  Then we'd wave at them wishing them a great flight.  It was so refreshing!

Ameila making finger jello on Wednesday

Amelia was in rare form Wednesday.  She refused to put her clothes on after taking a dip in the pool.  She all of a sudden got the urge to run circles in the dining room and kitchen, then up and down the hall.  She just kept going and going.  Finally I came up with a way to keep her energy going into some fun for the both of us...

We made finger jell-O.  She loved stirring.  Don't worry it wasn't the boiling hot jello water.  She had fun stirring up nice cold water and splashing it all over the place.

Amelia got into Mommies make-up bag...

She loves to put on lotion, brush her hair and her teeth.  Such the purdy girl.

BTW....

I have a lot of catching up to do, I know...but we're enjoying some major family time:)  The countdown has begun for the arrival for Baby Hadj II.  It's been such a different pregnancy and has flown by so fast!  Right now we're spending some QT with our Godchildren.  It's been so much fun!  I can't believe in 3 months we'll be a family of four.  I feel a strong desire to spend the next 3 months focusing on Ame and spending time with her.  I know our lives are about to embark on another amazing journey, but why not enjoy the three of us until then.  We aren't out of the clear for weddings though...Straty is the Best Man to Vinnie this month.  I've just been asked to read at their wedding and help out with day of timeline and arrangements, which means a lot to me. Details...  A HUGE must to me:)  Weddings can create the biggest monsters sometimes.  I still remember reading my SOE.  I had the pore souls lead off with the right foot and to smile.  Yes, it was on paper:)  Almost TEN years ago!  It was the prison guard in me that was the wedding drill captain.  We watched Bride Wars last night and it hit a lot of emotions.  I could see myself doing that wedding planner stuff again.  I loved wearing the wireless and speaking into the radios.  I did that as a prison guard too:)  Oh...and the suits and the fun heels!  I'd buy a special suit for the high end events, to match the event.  That's why I have a red suit, orange suit and several different black ones, still hanging in my closet.  I look at them and can remember the event so clearly.  Or my blue pin stripped from Ann Taylor Dad bought me on one of our WW and Maggiano nights (xoxo)  I better stop, I could go on forever.  I've been in a bad funk lately pondering if stay at home mom is what the Lord really wants for me or if I'm good enough for the job.  I'll spare you the details, no woe is me or playing the victim, it's all with the good man himself.  The whole sharing is caring is BS for me now.  I think there are people out there that feed off of your sharing/weakness/whatever and to empower themselves.  I'm done.  See bad funk.  Just breathe.  I can't wait to get back to S.

Sorry, here's a link for wedding photos
