Good Friday

Amelia had a late morning. She got up at 6am and went back to bed. Then woke up at 10:30am! She LOVES her fingers and chewing on them. We went to HB where Grandma and Grandpa watched her while Straty and I went to Good Friday service with the Johnson's. It was an amazing set up with stations walking you through that day many years ago. You're able to reflect on why we celebrate Easter. The church stated "it's a remembrance that Jesus rose from death as a sacrifice for us, by laying down his life on the cross. Christ took our place and paid the ultimate price, the penalty for our sin...death. He overcame the sins of the world and became our path to God." We celebrate his victory over death, his love for the every one of us, the relationship with God through Jesus and freedom. The betrayal, the mocking, the crucifixion and the burial were demonstrated through art, word and scripture: Mathew 27:27 - 28:8, Mark 15:16-16:19, Luke 23:26 - 24:35 and John 19:16 - 20:30. I spent a lot of time thinking and praying over Amelia and the world she's going to grow up in. Praying for her protection from sin and those who are quick to judge and betray her. I spent time praying for this world and what it's become. It's really scary. I know my child and my child's children will see parts if not all of the end and I pray with all my heart she seeks the Lord. I've been reading the Easter story in the bible today and imaging the love God has for his son and for us. To even have his son laying dead in a tomb for a day...As a new mom, I can't even imagine sacrificing my daughter for the sins of others. I love her so very much. What will it be like to see his face...what would I say. Thank you...I love you...

Tomorrow we will crack our eggs as a symbol of cracking the tomb. We will celebrate and say: Christos Anesti (Christ has Risen)...Aleethos Anesti (He has truly Risen)

"Miller Loves Me So!!!"

Little Miss Poopie Pants

Hello! Amelia has kept mommy and daddy busy with her Poopie Pants!!!! Thanks to mom/grandma, we all now sing that crazy song...Poopie pants! I even sing it when Amelia doesn't have them or I'm alone! It's a catchy tune! Amelia is doing wonderful. Since Friday, she's been sleeping through the night!!!!! She goes to bed around 8pm, might wake up between 10pm-11pm for a bedtime drink and then sleeps till 6am. She goes back down at 7am and sleeps another hour or two. It's been wonderful! I stayed up late tonight to do some house cleaning. It's 1am and I'm ready for bed. Me and the pump and then some ZZZZ! Tonight we head to Auntie Krista's for a BBQ and to create our Easter eggs for the annual Easter Egg game. We try to crack the other persons egg. The Greek tradition is to dye the eggs red in resembles Christ's blood shed on the cross. The cracking of the egg is Christ is Risen by cracking out of tomb. We're having Easter and Grandma and Grandpas!

Amelia and the Easter Bunny

Amelia and I spent the day with Auntie Sarah. Amelia had many firsts! Her first to South Coast Plaza, a mall and shopping!!!! Oh there are so many cute baby girl clothes for Spring. If only money grew on trees! Her first shoe shopping experience... Motherhood has done something to me...I bought these basket weave wedged heels with pink, green and yellow on them shoes!!!!! I also bought some "mommy" fancy shoes, oh and a "Jenn" pair:) I love my shoes and wanted Amelia to experience the true way to shoe shop! We also took Amelia to meet the little blue box for the first time... in to Tiffany's. Straty if you read this, I want the Duck charm for my bracelet with Amelia Marie on one side and January 14, 2008 on the other. Thank you! Oh and Amelia also had her first run in with the Easter Bunny! So, there we are, Auntie Sarah and I with Amelia starring at the Easter Bunny set. We asked if that Easter Bunny was real. Meaning is there someone in it? The Easter Bunny sat about 3' tall on a mound of grass. He moved his arms and head. We watched as the cutest baby boy was taking his picture. Sarah and I scooted a little closer to get a better look at this here Easter Bunny..."Should I do it?" I asked. We walked up the ramp to the Easter Bunny helper and asked if that was a real Easter Bunny. "of course it's the Easter Bunny" as she glares down to Amelia. As if she knew any better. No really though, is it mechanical or is there a little person in there, I asked. She was very vague and refused to answer if in fact that was the real Easter Bunny. So, we made our way up the ramp. I started pulling Amelia out of the stroller, when all of a sudden the Easter Bunny spoke. It was the freakiest thing...the 3' Easter Bunny was having a conversation with Sarah! It totally freaked the both of us out. It was the strangest voice asking how old Amelia was and how beautiful she was...I sat Amelia down next to this very peculiar Easter Bunny. In trying to get her to smile, I started the Poopie pants song! "Poopie pants...poopie pants...you can not dance in poopie pants." Now who was the freak...to top it off I added, "does the Easter Bunny have poopie pants? Huh baby, does the Easter Bunny have poopie pants?" Question should have been is the Easter Bunny wearing pants? I wasn't even thinking when I started to sing the song:) We walked away somewhat traumatized by this Easter Bunny. It was the cutest one ever, but it spoke!!!!! Sarah was laughing that I sang the poopie pants song and threw the Easter Bunny into it! Amelia was a trooper. She wasn't sure what to do at first. She just sat there. Then she noticed the Easter Bunny and blew him bubbles. Afterwards Amelia gave Auntie Sarah some poopie pants! We had a wonderful day! Thanks Auntie Sarah! Enjoy the photo...she's looking more and more like her Daddy!

Hadj house in lock down....

So we've been tied up with the hot potato cold! I got it first then tossed it to Straty and Amelia. Amelia though wasn't totally hit. She's congested and a cough here and there, but Doc said not to worry, just watch her temp (which she didn't have.) Our little one is growing each day physically and mentally. I love her big smiles with the cutest bubbles. She loves to watch her feet kick. She's still got "tude." She knows what her bottle looks likes. If you set it down, she stares at it and gets fussy or tells you to give it back! While burping her, if it's in view, she'll stare, till it comes back her way! She's smart I tell ya! She also will let you know when she's done with the happy music and wants something more mellow. Today we were playing nursery rhymes and she was fussy buckets...Binkie? no Miss Bunny? sure, but not so much...ummmmm Change music? Yep! She's taking a nap. We're heading out for a walk soon, then heading out of the house. We wait till daddy comes home so he can see his Princess.

Amelia LOVES her Miss Bunny!!!!

or she's practicing to be a gypsy...she love Miss Bunny snuggled next to her face with the blanket draped across her mouth to chew or suck on. Sometimes she doesn't do anything but fall fast asleep with Miss Bunny protecting her. Tonight she's in her bouncey chair and started making the "eh...eh" noise, meaning she's wanting something. I ask her, do you want Binkie, Bottle, Bunny or Blankie...She wanted Miss Bunny. Thanks Thom!!!!!!! Whatever makes her happy right? What about mommy? I could think of a few things that started with a B...Bling! Benz, Bubble Bath!!!
